Roseann O’Reilly Runte is President and CEO of the Canada Foundation for Innovation since August 2017.

Dr Runte’s scholarly work includes being the past chair of the Board of Fulbright Canada-US, a member of the Executive Committee of the World University Service of Canada, and a member of both the European and World Academies of Arts and Sciences. She previously served as President and Vice-Chancellor at Carleton University; she held similar positions at universities and colleges in Canada and the United States.

She has been appointed to the Order of Canada, the French Order of Merit, fellowship in the Royal Society of Canada, and is Commander of the Order of the Crown of the Kingdom of Belgium and Officer in the Order of the Academic Palmes of the French Republic. She also received several prizes for her work on the environment as well as community and national service, and holds a number of honorary degrees.

Roseann is a creative writer and has received a poetry prize from the Académie française.
